

About Courtney Chacon
Courtney is a licensed speech-language pathologist with a strong academic foundation and specialized training in communication sciences and disorders. She earned her B.S. in Family Studies with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kansas State University, graduating Cum Laude and receiving the Margaret Byrne Sarricks Student Scholarship Award. She went on to complete her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Kansas, where she was recognized as an ACTS-KC Grant Scholar.
Courtney holds the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and is licensed by the State of Kansas. She has completed advanced trainings, including the Gender Voice and Communication Training Workshop and LSVT-LOUD, which enhance her ability to serve individuals with diverse needs. Her professional expertise spans articulation and phonology, autism, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), executive function, and gender voice training.
In addition to her clinical practice, Courtney has contributed to research in the field. She co-authored a study on consumer acceptance of prethickened water products, published in Topics in Clinical Nutrition (2015).
Beyond Work
Beyond her professional work, Courtney enjoys an active and creative lifestyle. She loves reading, yoga, puzzles, podcasts, travel, and dancing. Locally, she can often be found at the Lawrence Farmer’s Market, performing in live theatre, and supporting the Penguin Project. Most of all, she treasures time spent with her family.
